Welcome to the Quittance blog

Quittance - every invoice, settled

Why we are writing

Accounts payable is quiet work. An invoice arrives, someone checks it against what was ordered and what was agreed, and - if everything lines up - it gets paid. Multiply that by a few thousand invoices a month and the quiet work becomes the month-end crunch.

This blog is where we share how we think about that work: reading an invoice carefully, matching it to the purchase order and the underlying agreement, and leaving a clear trail for whoever signs off.

What you can expect here

We plan to keep these posts practical and short. Topics we expect to cover:

  • Invoice review - what a careful read looks like, and the small discrepancies that are easy to miss.
  • Closing the books - the steps between "the invoice arrived" and "the period is closed", and where teams tend to lose time.
  • Working with the tools you already use - your accounting system and your agreement records, and how they fit together.

We will avoid jargon where we can, and we will be candid about what is hard.

A note on what this is not

This is an editorial blog, not a product manual. When we describe how something works, we will keep it grounded and avoid claims we cannot stand behind. If you want to see the product itself, the rest of the site is the place to start.

Thanks for reading. More soon.
